Bulb Mind Records began in 2018 when Hafsteinn Már Sigríðarson Khan and Helgi Freyr Tómasson decided to create a home for the music they were making. At first, the label existed mainly to release music from Hewkii, Helgi’s artist project, but it didn’t take long before friends joined in. What started as a practical solution quickly grew into something more personal.

Today, Bulb Mind Records represents six artists, all of whom knew each other long before the label existed. That sense of friendship and shared history is at the core of everything we do. We often describe Bulb Mind as an artist collective as much as a record label, because the creative energy here comes from collaboration, trust, and a genuine desire to see each other grow.

As the music evolved, so did the vision. Around 2020, we began designing and producing merch, first for our artists and then for a wider audience. What started as a side project has become its own brand, BMR Merch, which now works on apparel, media, and website design. These partnerships have opened new creative doors and expanded what Bulb Mind can be.

Through all of this, the goal has stayed the same: to create a space where our artists can release work they believe in, surrounded by people who believe in them. Bulb Mind Records is built on friendship, creativity, and the idea that independent music thrives when artists are given room to experiment and support one another.
